If you are external and apply, your application will not be considered at this time.We are seeking a skilled Shift Engineer to carry out planned and reactive maintenance across electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring plant and associated services operate reliably and safely.Job DescriptionAs Shift Engineer, you’ll be responsible for completing PPM tasks, diagnosing faults, undertaking minor installation works, and maintaining accurate records in line with health and safety and quality standards.This is a hands-on role where you’ll respond quickly to client requests, support with technical surveys, and help deliver continuous improvements to service.If you have proven experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance and are looking for a role with variety and responsibility, we’d love to hear from you.Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to reactive maintenance issues promptly, diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults to minimise disruption and maintain functionality
  • Conduct technical surveys and provide detailed reports to support maintenance and improvement plans
  • Coordinate client requests and manage subcontractors to ensure high-quality standards are met
  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe and optimal condition to support efficient operations
  • Provide cover at other sites to ensure continuous service delivery
  • Ensure compliance with all quality and safety standards to maintain safe and reliable operations
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
  • City & Guilds Parts 1 and 2 Electrical Installation or recognised equivalent
  • City & Guilds Part 3 Electrical Installation or recognised equivalent
  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing
  • ACOP L8 training for water systems maintenance
  • Prior experience of Building Management Systems and business-critical environments
  • PASMA/IPAF certified
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation with experience in fault diagnosis and rectification
