Senior Quantity SurveyorLeeds - hybrid working£65,000/year plus packageOur client is a leader in the water industry and they are looking to strengthen their commercial team with a skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor. They provide essential infrastructure services through long-term framework agreements to the water and wastewater sectors in the UKThe Water Division provides a broad range of technical capabilities to our clients ranging from asset condition assessment to design, build, commissioning and completion.We are recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on the Yorkshire Water AMP7 contract in Leeds.As the Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be part of our Commercial Team who are responsible for the commercial management of the AMP7 frameworks.As the Senior Quantity Surveyor your responsibilities will include:
  • Assist and advise the on commercial influences around Cost and Value reporting and changes required to ensure profit targets are met
  • Ensure cash is received on time at forecast level
  • To be an effective negotiator at both internal and client levels
  • Assist with the production and presentation of Monthly CVR's/Profit and loss accounts
  • To ensure all work completed is accurately valued and followed through to cash collection
  • To oversee the procurement and management of sub-contractor applications and payments and other suppliers
  • Cash flow and aged debt reporting
  • To develop and implement changes to process following understanding of a need to make changes to improve performance
  • Management of the Early Warning and Compensation Event process
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
  • Previous experience with Quantity Surveying, preferably gained within Utilities Contracting
  • BSc in Commercial Management / Quantity Surveying or other related subject is desirable but not essential if you can demonstrate relevant experience within our sector
  • Basic understanding and previous experience of NEC contracts
  • The ability to communicate effectively and work with staff at all levels
  • Capability and desire to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Full driving licence as there will be an element of site based travel involved within the role
