We are seeking an inspiring and enthusiastic teacher to join our nurturing and forward-thinking special school in Islington- working as a SEND primary teacher.About Us:Our school is a vibrant, inclusive learning environment for pupils aged 4-11 with a range of complex needs, primarily Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), including autism, sensory needs, and associated communication challenges. We are committed to providing personalised, meaningful learning experiences that support each child's development and independence.The Role:As a SEND Teacher, you will:
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs of your pupils
  • Use a range of strategies including sensory approaches, communication aids (PECS, Makaton), and therapeutic input
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team including therapists, support staff, and families
  • Create a positive, structured learning environment that supports emotional regulation and wellbeing
  • Be part of a supportive and collaborative staff team that values creativity and professional growth
What We're Looking For:
  • Qualified Teacher Status QTS
  • Experience teaching children with SLD, PMLD, or complex needs (desirable but not essential - we welcome applications from mainstream teachers with a passion for SEND)
  • A nurturing, patient, and resilient attitude
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A reflective practitioner committed to inclusive education and continuous improvement
