Salary: £90 – £120 per day (depending on experience)About the Role:
A welcoming and inclusive school in Aylesbury is seeking a compassionate Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). The role involves providing both 1:1 and small-group support to help students access learning, develop independence, and build confidence in a nurturing environment.Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with SLD in developing communication, social, and life skills
- Assist with tailored activities, adapting resources to meet individual needs
- Promote a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment
- Implement strategies from Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Support personal care routines where required
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to ensure consistent support
- Experience working with children or young people with SLD or complex needs
- Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills
- Good understanding of SEN and willingness to learn
- Relevant SEN training or qualifications (desirable)
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply
