Job IntroductionAre you ready to implement change and seek improvements in the way we deliver Council services?Lincolnshire County Council is seeking a dynamic and experienced Traffic Manager to take charge of the strategic and operational management of our highway network.This is a pivotal leadership role within the Highways Service, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of all road users across the county. You will collaborate with a wide range of internal teams, elected members, utility companies, and external stakeholders to deliver high-impact services that support our corporate objectives.About the roleAs Traffic Manager, you will oversee key services that include The Lincolnshire Permit Scheme, Street works, Civil Parking Enforcement and Network Regulation. You will lead a team of specialist managers and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to minimise disruption, uphold legal responsibilities, and support the Council's strategic transport objectives.You will be responsible for:
  • Delivering statutory duties under the Traffic Management Act 2004 and NRSWA
  • Managing complex budgets and income streams
  • Representing the Council regionally and nationally
  • Driving innovation and continuous improvement in service delivery
  • Lead a team of specialist managers and oversee up to 50 staff
About youWe are re looking for a motivational leader with:
  • A Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline
  • Extensive knowledge of traffic management legislation and best practice
  • A proven track record in contract management and stakeholder engagement
  • Experience managing large teams and delivering complex services
  • Excellent communication, strategic planning, and leadership skills
