Job DescriptionJob Reference: JH-RMP-SFCCJob Title: Support Worker / Carer (Maternity Cover Only)Responsible to: Directly accountable to and taking direction from the employer (Mum & Dad)Hours: 7 hours per weekHourly Rate of Pay: £12.21Based at: Employer's own home in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk and out in the local community.Please note that the position is Maternity Cover only with a start date of April 2025Job PurposeThe purpose of the job is to support and be a friendly companion to a young girl (10) with autism and global developmental delay. The child lives at home with her family. The purpose is to build a trusting, professional relationship with the child and to support her with all his needs. Personal care will be required. The child has a great character.Main duties:To support with:
  • Personal care e.g. washing, dressing and moving.
  • Constant supervision is always required.
  • Support with all safety aspects.
  • To be a social friendly companion to the child
  • To support with sensory play
  • On occasions, light household duties such as changing the bed, hoovering, washing up, etc
  • You will be required to keep her entertained in the home.
  • To build a supportive relationship and take part in activities which the child enjoys.
  • To perform such other duties as may reasonably be required.
