You will provide medical leadership to the MDT. The role provides excellent opportunity in being a leader and work on improving pathways for patients within the service.You will be supported by a medical secretary.   • Registration with the GMC (or eligible to become registered) with a licence to practice
  • Included on GMC Specialist Register or eligible for inclusion or included within six months of CCT
  • Approved Clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
Desirable
  • Possess a CCT or (equivalence) in old age Psychiatry
  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field
  • Has undergone training in educational supervision
  • Has undergone training in appraisal
EligibilityEssential
  • Experience of multi-disciplinary team working
  • Up to date knowledge and high level of clinical skills and competence in diagnosis and management of psychiatric disorders in learning disability population
  • Experience of clinical audit
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent teaching skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to work in a time efficient manner
  • Able to meet the mobility requirements of the post

  • An area of special interest relevant to the post as demonstrated by publications or presentations to learned societies
