Prospero Teaching is working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Rochdale that is seeking a dedicated Phonics Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time, long-term role starting in September 2025, ideal for someone with a passion for early reading and supporting childrens progress in phonics.Key Responsibilities:
Deliver targeted phonics interventions to small groups and individual pupils, using schemes such as Read Write Inc., Little Wandle, or Letters and SoundsSupport class teachers in planning and preparing phonics activitiesMonitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the teacher or SENCoHelp develop pupils’ early reading, decoding, and blending skillsAssist in creating a positive, engaging, and literacy-rich learning environmentSupport pupils with additional needs or those falling behind in phonicsWhat We Offer:

Previous experience delivering phonics interventions in a UK primary school (preferred)Knowledge of synthetic phonics programmes (e.g. Read Write Inc., Little Wandle)Excellent communication and classroom support skillsRight to Work in the UKEnhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)Two professional referencesHow to Apply:
