We are committed not only to innovative research and the highest standard of teaching, but also to creating an inclusive and supportive working environment.Overview of the role:We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join Professor Dame Molly Stevens's lab at the Kavli Institute for Nanoscience Discovery. The ideal candidate will be a motivated biomaterials expert with a strong publication record, capable of working independently and collaboratively.You will develop bioactive hybrid materials and assess their functionality using in vitro cell and organoid models to engineer regenerative tissue constructs for diverse disorders. The post is available from October 2025 for 18 months, with part-time options considered.Key responsibilities:
  • Develop and validate material platforms for cell/organoid interfacing
  • Characterise cell-material interactions using imaging and functional readouts
  • Establish protocols for neurotech device integration
  • Contribute to a hybrid nanomaterials library
  • Manage research and project-related administration
  • Collaborate within the Stevens Group and with external teams
Selection criteria:
  • PhD/DPhil (or near completion) in a relevant field
  • Experience with cell/organoid models and cell culture
  • Skilled in interface characterisation techniques
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
