- Supervise and provide general maintenance support.
- Oversee plumbers, electricians, and other outside contractors to ensure that work is completed to a satisfactory standard and that the workspace is returned to order.
- Source suppliers, negotiate prices, and renegotiate annual contracts for all hotel and kitchen equipment, including health and safety items such as fire extinguishers, alarms, and defibrillators.
- Liaise with the accounts department to ensure all purchases align with the budget, ensuring that a purchase order is completed and approved for all transactions.
- Establish a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) guide for duty managers to follow regarding any maintenance or health and safety issues that may arise in the absence of the maintenance team. Provide full training to duty managers on this SOP.
- Reactively modify procedures and address any reported incidents to minimize risk and prevent recurrence.
- Monitor utilities and actively seek more energy-efficient solutions.
- Project manage all refurbishment or capital expenditure projects cost-effectively, ensuring compliance with Dalata and health and safety standards.
- Set a good example for your team regarding work ethic, attitude, personal presentation, punctuality, and attendance.
- Previous management experience in a similar hotel environment.
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment and be standards-driven.
- A good knowledge of Health and Safety.
- Have great relationship-building skills with the customers and the team.
- Flexibility in day-to-day job demands, remain focused when priorities and practices change.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Electric and plumbing qualifications would be advantageous.
