We are seeking a reliable and skilled Class 2 HGV Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and excellent driving skills. Physical fitness is required due to some hand balling.48 hour average (some weeks more/some weeks less)Wage rises after a probation period.You will work a shift system of 5 consecutive days each week. Various shifts each week eg. Mon-Fri, Tues - Sat or Wed-Sun Start times from 5am,Transport required due to location.You will be delivering to various locations across the South West on a daily basis.Duties
  • Operate lorries to deliver goods to various locations.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Load and unload cargo, securing it properly for transport.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs and records of vehicle maintenance.
  • Follow designated routes and schedules while being flexible to accommodate changes as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery status and any issues encountered on the road.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, promoting a culture of safety on the road.
Experience
  • Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar commercial driving role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with lorry operations is advantageous.
  • A valid commercial Class C driving licence is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting goods.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
