- Provide high quality, experience-sensitive, neurodivergence-informed Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) assessment for autistic young people seen in the BeeU ISMHT; supporting better understanding of an autistic child or young person's unique 'languaging' style and communication identity across a variety of environments.
- Deliver a range of SLT interventions following specific SLT assessment to enable an autistic child or young person to communicate autonomously, authentically, and have agency to express a full range of communication functions, using their preferred communication means and modality across different environments, including Augmentative and Additional Communication (AAC).
- Provide psychoeducation to autistic CYP, families, carers and the wider support networks to facilitate insight into their unique communication style and needs.
- Ensure that interventions are provided in line with NICE Guidance, RCSLT guidelines including other relevant local and national documentation and current evidence-based practice.
- Responsible for prioritising workload, allocation of work to oneself and other staff, and to cover all levels of priority of work within the service.
- Make clinical judgements backed up by clinical reasoning and recommendations based on research, and being respectful and inclusive of the lived experiences of autistic people in consultation with multi-disciplinary staff and in accordance with the service specification.
