- Critical role in translating operational resilience strategy into implementation plans, influences and contributes to strategy
- Oversight and co-ordination of Business Continuity and Crisis Management plan framework. Engages with stakeholders to satisfy BCP/CM requirements.
- Facilitate the effective awareness and testing of response and recovery plans for the business.
- Support successful implementation of defined strategy
- Develop and deliver the engagement model with specific focus partnership and collaboration to deliver insights and to be seen as a valued adviser
- Provide operational resilience oversight and advice to Group and Business Unit transformation, change and new business programmes for inclusion of operational resilience
- Develop a strong understanding of client model and operational environments; provide robust challenge to ensure resilience and recovery is fully considered and appropriate capabilities are identified and implemented
- Oversee implementation of operational resilience programmes, using the governance and control framework and associated approaches and tools, and other relevant risk frameworks
- Provide input for reliable and timely delivery of operational resilience information to relevant decision-making committees and governance bodies
- Promote effective use of the operational resilience governance, control, and oversight frameworks.
- Provide expert advice, guidance and support on the operational resilience and recovery solutions and capabilities
- Support Business Unit risk and control assessments
- Proactive stakeholder engagement and relationship management with Accountable Executives, SMF24s, Operational Risk and Business Service Owners
- Support formal oversight and assurance reporting of compliance with regulatory aligned resilience and recovery frameworks
- Support and undertake on-going monitoring and assessment of KPIs, KRIs, dashboards and operational resilience and recovery key artefacts (e.g., Resilience Statements, Recovery Plans, Self-Assessments, etc.)
- Contribute to management information on Operational Resilience Programmes plus ad-hoc requests for information and/or contributions to wider Group Corporate Security, Operational Resilience & Workplace and Group Operations reports.
- Support Business Unit preparation for Operational Resilience-related committees and governance
- Balance competing requirements to deliver a balanced set of results, resolving significant or priority conflicts.
- Addresses problems with wide-reaching ramifications, with a need to manage different parts of complex frameworks and link to the broader/holistic operational risk and/or resilience environment
- Responsible for driving continuous improvement
- Support and deputise the Operational Resilience & Recovery team and direct its resource to deliver objectives.
- Allocate resource optimally to deliver on strategy, prioritising conflicting resource demands, agendas, and activities
- Share best practice insights and knowledge of the complex operational resilience requirements, options, solutions, and risk mitigations
- Experience using automated Reporting tools
- Able to summarise and present data
- The ability to exercise sound judgement
- Experience of conducting third party due diligence
- Proven track record in designing, implementing, and delivering operational resilience, business continuity and disaster recovery management frameworks.
- Proven track record in Operational Resilience and/or operational field in a large company
- A curious and interrogative mindset with an enjoyment of problem solving
- The ability to build strong relationships across different stakeholders and comfortable providing challenge at all levels
- Pragmatic approach to issues and desire to work with stakeholders to improve risk and controls
- Strong written communication and report writing skills
- Degree / MBA / professional qualification
- Recognised industry risk or resilience qualification (e.g. CBCI / IRM)
- Thorough knowledge of relevant regulatory standards and industry better practice (e.g. UK FCA / PRA Operational Resilience Regulation, ISO-IEC 22301)
- Knowledge of the implementation of EU’s DORA key delivery
