Gatwick, UKWith a newly acquired UK AOC Ascend Airways will begin operating a small fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft (NG and MAX) in the ACMI market, opening its first operational base at London Gatwick in early 2024. The company is founded on the legacy of Synergy Aviation, a respected UK AOC holder, which has been acquired by Avia Solutions Group, already the world’s largest ACMI provider with over 180 airliners in operation.We are seeking candidates for positions of First Officer. These are important roles, where the individuals must demonstrate excellent aircraft handling ability, technical knowledge, as well as strong leadership. The successful candidates will play a key part in the success of Ascend Airways and enjoy the possibilities for career advancement which our growth will bring.The position will be based at London Gatwick and will involve some night-stopping with occasional longer periods up to two weeks away from base during the winter season only. The flying pattern will comprise busy summer months but with quieter winter rosters anticipated, pilots may take additional time off during the winter season to suit their lifestyle.The successful candidates will have the following experience and attributes:
  • UK CAA ATPL(A) or (f)ATPL(A) with Boeing 737 type rating either current or expired by no more than two years.
  • A minimum of 200 hours on Boeing 737 aircraft.
  • High performing and professional.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willing to maintain a home address within 90 minutes travelling time of London Gatwick.
  • Passion for the aviation industry.

  • Flexible approach towards working and rostered hours.
Requirements:
  • UK / EASA Class 1 medical certificate, without restrictions (other than for spectacles/contact lenses).
  • Age Limits – up to 65, in line with current legislation.
  • Unrestricted right to live and work in the UK
  • The ability to demonstrate a high level of proficiency in English
