Rates of Pay:
  • £17.83 per hour (this is a PAYE vacancy, so holiday pay will be accrued separately)
Day to Day DutiesYour duties as a Class 1 Driver will involve but not be limited to:
  • Delivery of goods from warehouse to store and trunking
  • Operate and drive various Class 1 vehicles in a safe and efficient manner to and from delivery locations
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly
  • Adhere to traffic laws and regulations
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers
  • Report any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
Essential SkillsAs a Class 1 Driver you will need to:
  • Hold a valid UK Category CE Licence
  • Have a minimum of 24 months experience driving CE vehicles
  • No more than six penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes
  • Have a valid UK CPC Card and UK Digi Card
  • Must undergo a drug and alcohol test
  • Must be able to speak and read a good level of English
  • Punctuality and excellent time keeping skills
  • Have a good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
  • Effective communication skills
Desirable Experience
  • Previous experience in a similar role will be beneficial
Training
  • Driving assessment will have to be completed, including theory test
  • Following successful assessment, there will be a one-week paid induction, which will take place on day shifts
  • Industry related training and ongoing support throughout
