Are you an experienced Hydrographic Survey Manager ready to lead a dynamic team focused on crucial inshore projects and champion operational excellence?Due to continued expansion, our growing client, a leading and progressive survey company, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Hydrographic Survey Manager to join their team in Irvine, Scotland. This pivotal role is essential for supporting operational and quality assurance (QA) processes within their busy hydrographic survey department, with a particular focus on their inshore survey capabilities.If you possess extensive experience in inshore hydrographic surveying across a broad range of disciplines, coupled with significant proven experience in leading a team and contributing to efficient departmental management, this could be your ideal next career move. While largely office-based, there may be an occasional requirement to undertake site work.This is a full-time position for a focused team player. In return, an attractive salary package is offered, with a generous holiday entitlement, a company pension scheme, and a professional working environment within a progressive survey company.Skills / Experience Required:At least 5 years relevant industry experience and a related degree qualification.Relevant Inshore Survey experience is essential.Excellent communication skills.Must be eligible to work in the UK and hold a Full UK Driving License.Purpose of the Role:To manage a team of surveyors, providing expert technical advice and leadership for inshore operations.To provide comprehensive expertise in carrying out surveys to client specifications, particularly for inshore environments.To ensure the accuracy of survey data by means of robust QA processes.To assist the commercial team in the completion of tender and PQQ documents.Key Accountabilities:Safety: Actively promote the implementation of the company's HSEQ Policies.Respect: Support the hydrographic survey team to achieve the highest possible standards.Focus: Consistently strive to understand client needs and meet or exceed their expectations for inshore projects.Quality: Ensure the accuracy of survey results, conforming to best practice and industry standards for inshore works.Commercial Effectiveness: Contribute to cost-effective operations by conducting surveys in the most efficient and timely manner and by managing the team effectively.Core Tasks Include:Co-ordinating and managing projects, determining the most appropriate approach to planning and execution of inshore surveys.Managing the day-to-day workload across all assigned inshore projects in line with customer requirements and company processes and standards.Delivering on all assigned projects, optimising resource use to maximise performance against project budgets and ensuring robust QA procedures are completed for inshore data.Dealing with operational issues and technical matters specific to inshore surveying, resolving independently or accessing appropriate support.Managing a team of surveyors and assistants, leading and coaching team members for maximum progress and compliance to relevant standards and procedures for inshore work.Co-ordinating training and development activities for all personnel within the hydrographic survey team, based on regular appraisal and performance management.Supporting the management team in the completion of tender and PQQ documentation.Assisting with audits on behalf of Quality and HS&E, ensuring full compliance to defined processes.Working collaboratively with other department managers to ensure the highest standard of process management and project co-ordination across multidisciplinary projects.Take the next step in your career and apply now to join a thriving and innovative organisation!
