Our busy Commercial Property team, based in Queen Square, Bristol, is looking for an experienced solicitor to assist with a steady flow of high quality pension scheme-related commercial property work.Our work on pension scheme asset matters covers the full range of commercial property work from acquisition of properties into pension schemes (whether by purchase or transfer in specie from another pension scheme), “day 2” work (leases/ landlord and tenant matters etc.) and sales and transfers in specie of properties out of the relevant schemes. We act for a number of market-leading pension scheme providers.This role offers a broad mix of commercial property law work with related pension scheme aspects and will appeal to a lawyer seeking a genuine breadth of work and the opportunity to develop a range of skills. They will be part of a friendly, close-knit and highly motivated group of people who believe in achieving client objectives and delivering a top quality service to our loyal clients.The role is for an experienced lawyer. The successful candidate will report directly to the Partners and will also manage their own caseload of transactions and assist with the development of our Business Legal Services Division to attract new general commercial property and pension provider clients.This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious solicitor who is looking to further develop their career, with clear progression opportunities.Duties/Responsibilities:
Take responsibility for running transactions;
Teamwork on larger commercial property and/ or pension scheme-related transactions;
Support client relationship management;
Involvement in marketing initiatives and attendance at networking events;
Assist in training members of staff and contributing to the department's ‘know how’ systems.
Key skills/competencies required:
Qualified solicitor with at least 10 years’ relevant PQE or equivalent;
Strong technical knowledge of pension scheme commercial property transactions and related HMRC pension scheme regulations;
Experience of negotiating and efficiently delivering/ completing pension property transactions;
Excellent legal knowledge and drafting skills;
Ability to analyse complex legal problems and suggest effective solutions;
Good people skills;
Self sufficient whilst also having the necessary qualities to work as part of a team;
The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines and targets.
The ability to work autonomously
A combination of office and home working will be required. The successful candidate will be required to work from our Bristol office 2 days a week.
