- Be responsible for technical leadership of complex, novel, and large multi-disciplinary projects
- Lead the application of AECOM policies and procedures as they apply to technical delivery ensuring project quality processes are in place and being followed
- Prepare Technical Execution Plans
- Be responsible for the appointment of competent discipline lead engineers for technical delivery
- Chair of multi-disciplinary project reviews
- Plan and develop engineering tasks concerned with unique problems. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation and development of novel concepts and approaches
- Resolve issues or problems concerning conflicting requirements and/or difficult coordination, providing concise, fair, and clear adjudication following consultation with all parties.
- Be capable of acting independently on technical matters
- Actively pursue continuous learning of technical advances, emerging business/industry trends and competitive positioning
- Confirm that the technical approach satisfies the client scope of services and expectations
- Professionally qualified Engineer i.e.. CEng / IEng or working towards this status.
- Recognised engineering qualification or preferably a degree in engineering
- Demonstrable experience of the application of NR/L2/RSE/02009 standard and associated responsibilities for undertaking Contractor's Engineering Manager duties on Network Rail Projects.
- Advanced knowledge of system interfaces which impact on discipline design principles and demonstrable experience of the successful management of interfaces within projects.
- Experience of working within governance processes for project delivery (i.e., PACE, RIBA) and the engineering expectations of each stage of governance.
- Previous Engineering Manager experience in varied (size, client, project stage) rail projects.
