Degree Level: A-LevelJob Description:Bank Host and Catering Assistant | Catering | Private Hospital | Horley, West Sussex | Flexible working hoursSpire Gatwick Park are looking for a Host and Catering Assistant to join the bank staffing. You will provide a quality food and beverage service to patients and visitors at ward/daycare level working with the Support services, administration and Nursing teams. We are seeking someone with Strong hands-on experience working in a kitchen as a kitchen assistant.Spire Gatwick Park Hospital offers world-class care and is part of one of the UK's most respected private hospital groups.   • Responsible for taking meal orders from patients and visitors on a daily basis.
  • Observe all dietary requirements as identified on nurses list and ensure patient's menu choice is compatible
  • Convey compliments and complaints relating to food and food services to the line manager
  • Report to nursing staff patients who may be experiencing eating difficulties e.g. poor appetite, difficulty in swallowing or chewing
  • Ensures that all crockery and cutlery is presented to the patient clean and undamaged.
  • Reports all incidents of damage to stock and equipment to the line manager
  • Responsible for washing, drying and putting away of returned trays, crockery, cutlery and glassware
Who we're looking for:
  • Experience working unsupervised and on own initiative, prioritising tasks
  • Strong hands-on experience working in a kitchen as a kitchen assistant
  • Confident in managing day-to-day staff restaurant operations as well us interaction with patients us a host
  • Someone with a proactive attitude who can adapt quickly to a busy and sometimes high-pressure environment.
  • A positive and flexible approach to customer service
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Experience in a similar role is essential
  • Willing and able to complete mandatory training for COSSH, Manual Handling, Infection Control, food hygiene and Health & Safety in-house.
