(Whilst you will predominantly be based at Taunton Training Centre, you will on occasion be required to travel to Tipton Training Centre, Eakring Training Centre and on Adhoc occasion the other operational sites across the UK.)

Are you a passionate and experienced Electrical Trainer with experience as a Electricity Distribution Fitter seeking an opportunity to inspire and educate the next generation? If you are, then my client is looking for you to join their training team. The role will require you to lead engaging Fitting training courses within a classroom and workshop environment to apprentices, new hires and operational staff.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Using experience to help in the design and development of technical and safety training to meet customer requirements.
- Support the maintenance of training products, ensuring compliance with internal quality assurance processes.
- Ensure training products meet relevant safety and technical requirements.
- Interact with technical experts and relevant departments to ensure training is developed to meet necessary standards.
- Review latest technical and safety bulletins to remain knowledgeable on safety training matters.
- Review lesson plans and presentations to ensure sessions are delivered to a high standard.
- Support the team by carrying out observations to identify and implement improvements.
- Maintain training centre facilities and equipment.
- Ensure training equipment is maintained, calibrated, and tested as necessary.
- Conduct safety walks for areas of responsibility.
- Assess individuals carrying out practical activities to ensure they meet qualification standards.
- Work with the Design and Innovation Team to drive improvements and new products.
- Health & Safety, Safeguarding responsibilities to learners.
- Completion of accurate course reports and assessments documentation
- Recognised Level 3 Engineering Advanced Apprenticeship, Appropriate Technical Qualification - ONC/ HNC or equivalent Electrical Engineering Qualification
- Experience maintaining Distribution plant and equipment
- Sound understanding of the Distribution Safety Rules and associated Policies
- Excellent communication and time management / planning skills
- Good degree of IT skills and be conversant with Microsoft PowerPoint
- Experience of managing teams or work activities desirable
- Previous training experience, knowledge of coaching of others would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of Safeguarding, or working with young adults is desirable but training will be given.
- NEBOSH certificate / diploma or equivalent safety qualifications
- You must have the full UK Rights to Work without the need to be Sponsored before 2031 or on a Dependant Visa
- Have a Clean UK Driving Licence
- You must have the relevant UK Employment experience to be considered for this role
- The successful applicant will be expected to study for and successfully complete a suitable professional training qualification.
