- Provide accurate, achievable estimates for work packages.
- Translate customer requirements into detailed electronics requirements.
- DFx including safety and industrial standard compliance.
- Implementation of requirements into electronic assemblies, cables etc using Altium.
- Schematic and PCB layout.
- Conduct prototyping, proof of concept and design proving testing.
- Design calculations.
- FMEA and other reliability tasks.
- Perform EMC compliance testing.
- Design reviews and soliciting design approval from the business.
- Preparation of production data including technical data packs and test specifications.
- Awareness of Electronics technology trends and their selection and appropriate application.
- Liaises with suppliers to identify suitable components and material including replacement components.
- Identification and development of innovative solutions.
- Work to the Company’s policies, procedures and standards.
- Other activities and responsibilities as detailed in QMS procedures and by business demands.
- Electronics engineering experience, preferably within an industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Analog circuit design skills - experience of precision measurement circuits would be preferred.
- Experience of designing with microcontrollers - STM32 family experience would be of great interest.
- PCB design tools expertise, including component library management. Experience of Altium would be an advantage.
- Design for high reliability and long service life.
- Design of certified products for tightly regulated markets.
- Experience of EMC design and testing.
- Software device driver development in C or C++.
- Knowledge of hazardous area certification and electrical safety standards and design.
- Knowledge of functional safety and FMEDA.
- Experience of power supply design for low noise circuits.
- Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering / Electronic Engineering
