Team: Children's services - School ImprovementJob Family: Enabling - CBG14Salary: Soulbury Scales I&A 15-21: £60,088 - £67,476 per annum pro rataHours: 2 positions available- 1x 37 hours per week Term Time Only / 1x 18.5 hours per week Term Time OnlyLocation: You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month.Contract: Hybrid - PermanentClosing Date: 24th September 2025Interview Date: TBCAbout the role:The School Improvement Team is based within Childrens Services and provides advice and support to 130 lower, primary, middle, secondary and upper school across Central Bedfordshire.Two School Improvement Advisor officers are required who will work within the School Improvement team to support attainment and Ofsted outcomes:
To take a lead within the LA in respect of improving school performance
To work with schools to effectively identify and support teachers with projects which support effective improvement
To lead on both income generating and none income generating work in this area
Work alongside CBC officers to develop effective systems and processes
Work with schools to secure an outstanding understanding of professional practice in the relevant area.
Visit schools to provide practical support in the relevant area of responsibility.
Provide impartial advice in respect of specific practice
You will also work with other CBC officers to:
Establish regular meetings agendas
Evaluate need and identify areas of required training
Encourage the sharing of good practice.

Headteacher or Head of School experience
To be able to inspire others, build strong and productive relationships and have a strong specialist knowledge of one or more of the areas identified. Knowledge of safeguarding legislation regarding young people will also be essential.
