WAREHOUSE OPERATIVE – PM SHIFT (High-Pace Parcel Distribution)Location: Tannochside (Uddingston)
Pay Rate: £12.21 – £15.01 per hour
Shift Start: 3:00 PM
Shift Length: Approx. 5–6 hours (volume dependent)
Days: Monday to Sunday (rota – shifts allocated based on performance)People Solutions are looking for warehouse operatives to work at our client's warehouse in Uddingston.About the SiteThis role is based at a major national parcel distribution hub in Uddingston – one of the busiest and most efficient in the UK network.The site operates with state-of-the-art conveyor and scanning technology, moving thousands of parcels every hour.It’s a high-energy, high-performance environment where teamwork, speed and precision keep the operation running smoothly.Every shift is fast-paced from start to finish, and every operative plays a key role in ensuring parcels get to their destinations on time.The PM Shift – Loading OperationOn the afternoon shift, your main responsibility will be loading trailers ready for outbound delivery. This includes:
  • Collecting parcels from conveyor shoots – the automated belt system sorts parcels into shoots based on their delivery destination.
  • Lifting and stacking parcels into trailers in the correct sequence, ensuring they are secure for transport.
  • Handling parcels up to 25kg with speed and care.
  • Working against time targets – trailers must be fully loaded on schedule to keep the network moving.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe loading area at all times.

What we are looking for
  • Reasonably physically fit – comfortable with repetitive lifting and sustained pace
  • Fast and accurate – able to work with automated systems without errors
  • Reliable and committed – punctuality is essential
  • Strong English skills – for following instructions and communicating with the team
  • Previous warehouse or parcel distribution experience is desirable but not essential if you can demonstrate the stamina and work ethic required
Shift details
  • Start: 3PM sharp
  • Finish: Around 8 -9 PM, depending on parcel volumes
  • Days: Monday to Sunday – flexibility preferred
  • Shifts allocated based on performance
