Help get better trained personnel to the front line faster – This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced professional to make a lasting impact by mentoring the next generation of Royal Navy engineers—leveraging your career expertise without the need for prior teaching experience!Project Selborne is a Transformational Training programme with a strategic goal of modernising Royal Navy training to deliver “better trained sailors to the front line faster”.Your role will be to deliver training in Welding & Fabrication modules to the Royal Navy at HMS SultanThis role is offered on a term time basis working 45 weeks per year, with non-working weeks taken 2 weeks at Christmas and Easter and 3 weeks in August. The salary will therefore be pro rata’d and calculated to include contractual annual leave entitlement and bank holidays.Due to the nature of this role, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance at SC level.Job title: Training Delivery Instructor - WeldingJob Description:What you’ll be doing
  • Deliver hands-on Welding & Fabrication training in line with the Training Plan and standard operating procedures.
  • Support departmental tasks using your expertise, as directed by the Training Manager.
  • Keep training materials up to date and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Assess student work and provide clear, constructive feedback to help them progress.
  • Ensure trainee wellbeing and development throughout the training process.
  • Follow all safety and compliance procedures, while maintaining your CPD records.
What we’re looking forEssential Skills/Experience/Qualifications
  • Minimum Level 3 Technical Certificate in MIG, TIG & ARC Welding
  • Be proficient in the use of IT (hardware/software) within the workplace
  • Proven experience in the Welding & Fabrication industry.
Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualifications
  • Level 3 Teaching Qualification / DCTS Defence Train The Trainer Course or equivalent (successful completion)
  • Previous instructional experience in a military or civilian engineering environment
