We are working closely with several SEN and SEMH provisions across the Wigan Borough who are looking for a Behaviour Specialist to join their team. This full-time role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of pupils with complex behavioural, emotional, or mental health needs.Key Responsibilities:Deliver targeted behaviour support to pupils on a 1:1 and small group basisDe-escalate challenging situations and implement positive behaviour strategiesWork in partnership with SENCOs, class teachers, and pastoral staffSupport students with SEMH and behavioural needs to engage in learningHelp develop and maintain Individual Behaviour Plans (IBPs)Contribute to a safe, nurturing, and structured school environmentWe're Looking For Someone Who:Has previous experience working with pupils with SEMH or challenging behaviour (in education, youth work, care, or similar settings)Can remain calm, consistent, and professional in high-pressure situationsUnderstands trauma-informed and restorative behaviour approachesPossesses excellent communication and interpersonal skillsHolds relevant qualifications/training (e.g., Team Teach, MAPA, de-escalation training) – preferred but not essentialIs committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all pupilsBenefits of Working with Teaching Personnel:Competitive daily rates and weekly payAccess to ongoing training and professional developmentA dedicated consultant to support your placement and career progressionOpportunities for long-term roles and permanent contractsWork that truly makes a difference in the lives of vulnerable young peopleReady to Take the Next Step?If you're passionate about behaviour support and want to make a real impact in the classroom, we’d love to hear from you. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
