The successful candidate will work within a locality-based team, benefiting from both the connection of a local office and the flexibility of hybrid working.What you'll do:Manage a diverse caseload, including Child in Need and Child Protection cases.Conduct thorough and analytical assessments to develop effective care plans.Work directly with children and young people, ensuring their views are heard and considered.Collaborate with a range of professionals, including schools and health services, to provide integrated support.Prepare clear, evidence-based reports for statutory meetings and court proceedings.Benefits

About the Team
  • Children's Safeguarding & Support teams are located across 3 accessible localities.
  • Six teams comprise a Team Manager, Senior Practitioners, Social Workers, and family support workers.
  • They use a restorative approach to improve family outcomes. Senior management offers support for complex cases.
  • Social Workers collaborate with the Council's Legal Team on court applications, with court progression officers ensuring timescales are met and identifying training needs.
  • Monthly supervision with an allocated supervisor is provided daily for formal/informal sessions and case discussions.
Requirements:
  • You will be fully qualified (SW Degree, DipSW, or equivalent social work qualification)
  • Hold a minimum of 3 years' recent experience experience in statutory social care and dedicated to delivering positive outcomes for our children.
  • You must be registered with Social Work England and you must have a full driving licence with access to a car.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK
