You’ll manage a varied public law child care caseload, representing parents, grandparents, children (directly or via their CAFCASS-appointed guardian) and other family members.You’ll also:
- Attend PLO and final hearings
- Handle Legal Aid/CCMS procedures
- Prepare bundles, instruct counsel and undertake advocacy (if desired)
- Guide junior team members and assist with training
- Contribute to the development and growth of the department
- 1–10+ years PQE in child care law
- Strong working knowledge of Legal Aid and care proceedings
- Children Panel accreditation is a plus (or a desire to obtain it)
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
- Commercially aware, with excellent client care and drafting skills
- Experience managing or supporting junior team members would be ideal
