As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support, helping them to engage positively in their learning and develop essential skills.Responsibilities as a Behaviour Support Assistant:
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with behavioural needs.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and encourage positive choices.
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure consistent approaches to behaviour support.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing school environment.
Requirements for Behaviour Support Assistant:
  • Previous experience working with children with additional needs or behavioural challenges is desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and de-escalation skills.
  • Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude in supporting pupils.
  • A valid, enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
  • A CV covering the last 10 years of employment history where possible, with all gaps explained.
