GSL Education are looking for a dedicated Individual Needs Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Lancing that prides itself on inclusive education and ensuring no child is left behind. This is your chance to be a champion for a child who needs that extra support to shine.About the Role: Working within a mainstream primary setting, you'll provide specialist support to pupils with identified additional needs. Your role will be to help remove barriers to learning and ensure children can participate fully in school life alongside their peers.Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver targeted interventions and support programmes for pupils with specific needs
  • Use visual aids, communication tools and assistive technology to enhance learning
  • Support emotional regulation and help pupils develop coping strategies
  • Facilitate positive peer interactions and social skill development
  • Assist with transitions between activities and manage any anxiety or overwhelm
  • Collaborate with SENCo, teachers and external professionals to review progress
Job Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children who have SEN or additional needs
  • Knowledge of primary curriculum and how to adapt it for different learning styles
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with children
  • Flexible, creative approach to problem-solving
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one)
