Our client, a highly-regarded consultancy, is seeking an experienced Director of Transport Planning to lead and enhance their Transport Planning team in London.Key skills required for this roleTransport planning, development, transport assessments, travel plansImportantLeadership experience in Development Transport PlanningJob descriptionThis permanent role is pivotal in supporting the company's continued success in transport planning, specifically in relation to new developments such as retail, residential, education, and commercial projects.Key Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing the preparation of Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, and other transport-related planning documents
  • Leading the London Transport Planning team, comprising approximately 15 transport planners
  • Providing strategic direction and ensuring high-quality outputs within the team
  • Coordinating with a wide range of private sector developers, house builders, architects, and planning consultants
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and best practices in transport planning
  • Maintaining and developing strong client relationships through excellent service delivery
  • Contributing to the company's broader strategic goals and initiatives
  • Mentoring and developing team members to achieve their professional potential
Job Requirements:
  • Substantial experience in transport planning, particularly in support of new development projects
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Strong understanding of transport planning documents and regulatory requirements
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment, with 2-3 days per week in the office
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
