Regular events such as history afternoons and reading activities help engage the students in the learning process.About the Role:As a Learning Support Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting both teachers and students, helping to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in education while making a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners in Christchurch.Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in delivering lessons and providing one-on-one support to students
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment by managing classroom dynamics and encouraging good behaviour.
- Prepare teaching materials and organise resources to enhance learning experiences.
- Assist in assessing students’ progress and provide feedback to teachers and students.
- Follow individual care and medical plans, administering medication and supporting personal care needs as required.
- Foster student independence and utilise effective communication techniques.
- Relevant experience working in an educational setting.
- Understanding of special education needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
- Relevant qualifications in education.
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
