Based at our Abercrombie site, this role is key to supporting and maintaining process equipment across our Scotch sites, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and efficiency.As part of the Abercrombie Coppersmiths & Engineers team, you will play a vital role in the fabrication, installation, maintenance, repair, and improvement of assets. Working closely with operations, CAPEX teams, and other maintenance groups, you’ll deliver engineering excellence while driving improvements that support Diageo’s ambition to be the best performing, most trusted, and respected consumer products company.This is a hands-on, varied role that offers the opportunity to work across multiple sites, applying your technical expertise to reduce downtime, improve reliability, and support sustainable performance.In this Role You Will:Deliver all mechanical maintenance activities across the engineering centre/site according to a weekly/daily asset care planRespond promptly to breakdowns, conducting fault-finding and repairs to minimise downtimeWork closely with Site Managers, Operators, Maintenance Managers, Planners, and Craft groups to ensure planned and unplanned maintenance is implemented efficientlyEnsure all activities align with Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality Standards, as well as regulatory requirementsUse SAP-PM to raise, update, and record maintenance tasks, as well as track use of mechanical stocks and spare partsParticipate in and contribute to Daily Operations Review (DOR) meetings, asset care/CAPEX reviews, and silent season planningProvide subject matter expertise in root cause problem solving (RCPS), driving 100-year fixes to recurring issuesLead and support asset care improvement (IMPROVE) initiatives, ensuring standard methodologies are implemented and shared across sitesSupport Manufacturing Excellence (TRACC) metric delivery and act as a key point of contact for asset care at site levelAnalyse performance data, recommend improvements, and contribute to cost-saving initiativesTravel to other sites as required to support engineering and maintenance needsTo Be Successful in this Role You Will Need:HNC in Engineering or equivalent experienceExperience in a production or service environment (technical and/or management experience beneficial)Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive improvementsKnowledge of reliability maintenance techniques and SAP-PM systemsProficiency in data analysis, MS Office applications, and business systemsStrong interpersonal and communication skills, able to influence and engage stakeholders at all levelsAbility to handle and prioritise multiple tasks optimally, with meticulous attention to detailA collaborative team player with the ability to work independently when requiredFull UK driving licence (must meet requirements for driving company vehicles)Willingness to provide 24-hour breakdown cover as part of a pre-determined rotaDesirable:Time-served engineer with hands-on maintenance experienceKnowledge of Distilling and Malting processesStrong presentation skills and critical analytical thinkingThis is a permanent, Monday–Friday role, based at Abercrombie site, with occasional overtime and travel to other sites required.Flexible Working Statement:Flexibility is key to our success.
