- Analyse, interpret and report information and knowledge related to ideas and concepts.
- Develop and evaluate the movement of laboratory specimens and blood.
- Develop practice in the application of technology for measuring and monitoring pathology investigations, within your specialist area of expertise.
- Provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information.
- Develop own knowledge and skills and that of others.
- Assist in maintaining and developing services.
- Deliver quality improvement with the department senior team.
- Acknowledge the risk of Healthcare Associated Infections (HCAI) and understand own responsibility as agreed with line manager in the prevention and control of HCAI.
- Ensure all staff working within the Blood Transfusion section of the department are trained and competent in the subject
- Ensure Blood Transfusion services are ready for inspection by MHRA and UKAS at any point
- Attend the hospital HTC committee
- Raise Blood Transfusion Incidents in a timely manner to the Pathology Manager and Director of Clinical Service at the relevant site
- You must be a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with no restrictions on practice
- The Ideal candidate would hold either a Haematology/transfusion specialist portfolio or BBTS certificate
- Experience in multi discipline blood science working desirable
- 3 years' experience post state registration experience is essential
