- Build and maintain strong relationships with preferred suppliers, negotiating prices and terms to secure optimal contracts and supply agreements.
- Review, negotiate, and manage contracts across the agricultural sector, including catching, bedding, cleaning, medicines, vaccines, and chemicals.
- Perform spend, contract, and market analysis for key categories, providing insights and recommendations to the wider business.
- Identify opportunities for supplier consolidation across multiple sites, driving efficiency and cost savings.
- Lead, coach, and support a team of two, fostering their development and ensuring alignment with company values and standards.
- Monitor supply chain performance, ensuring compliance with procurement processes and mitigating risks while maximising opportunities.
- At least three years' experience in a similar procurement role, with proven expertise in contract management.
- Previous background of purchasing across the agricultural sector or in other categories such as chemicals, bedding, vaccines and medicines.
- CIPS qualification or equivalent professional credentials.
- Strong analytical skills and commercial awareness, coupled with excellent knowledge of contract terms and conditions.
- Leadership experience, with the ability to guide and develop a team effectively.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the confidence to make decisions under pressure.
