Band 7 | 1.0 wte | 37 hours | Permanent£50,861 - £59,159(including weekend and public holiday commitment)About the Radiopharmacy DepartmentOur small and highly-specialised team of 12 people, consists of pharmacists, scientists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy support workers who manufacture sterile radiopharmaceuticals for patients across NHS Lothian, NHS Borders and NHS Fife under an MHRA Manufacturer Specials (MS) Licence. Our departmental core working hours are 7.30am to 4pm (Fridays 3.30pm) and we contribute to the weekend rota and public holiday pharmacy service provided at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, where our department is based.About this postWe are looking for someone who is friendly, approachable, efficient, team-orientated and has a focus on quality, to work within the Radiopharmacy QA team to help maintain the Pharmaceutical Quality System. There will be a requirement to contribute to production sessions, both as a validated aseptic operator and performing final check and release of radiopharmaceuticals manufactured under the MS licence. The role will require application of specialist knowledge and skills in order to ensure compliance with regulations surrounding both Radiation Protection and Good Manufacturing Practice.If youd like to see what it looks like to work in our Radiopharmacy, heres a short video showing what we do:Applicants may have a variety of backgrounds, including pharmacists, technicians, technologists or science graduates. As the duties include the final release of aseptically-manufactured products, applicants must be registered with an accredited register in the UK, such as the General Pharmaceutical Council (as a pharmacist or a pharmacy technician), the Register of Clinical Technologists, the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) register or the Academy for Healthcare Science register (as a Clinical Scientist or Healthcare Practitioner).Qualifications required for pharmacists include a Masters degree in Pharmacy and the completion of foundation training as a hospital pharmacist, or equivalent experience.
