Expert Statistician - HTA & Access (PhD Required) - Top Global Pharma
Location: UK, France, or Germany
Hybrid / RemoteOverview:
An exciting opportunity has opened for a highly motivated and experienced Statistician to join a global team focused on Advanced Analytics and Access Capabilities. This role sits within a specialized unit providing statistical leadership for Health Technology Assessment (HTA), Patient Access, and Real-World Evidence (RWE), contributing directly to evidence generation and access strategies worldwide.Key Responsibilities:Strategic & Technical LeadershipProvide expert statistical input for HTA and access-related projects across geographies, including the US, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.Translate strategic needs into robust, innovative statistical solutions.Apply advanced methods including economic modeling, network meta-analyses, indirect treatment comparisons, and clinical trial analytics.Ensure alignment of evidence packages with global payer and regulatory requirements.Collaboration & CommunicationCollaborate across functions and geographies to drive evidence generation plans and reimbursement strategies.Co-author reports and scientific publications; support payer submissions and present findings at key scientific and industry meetings.Respond to payer queries and participate in external scientific interactions with agencies and healthcare professionals.Innovation & MethodologyStay current on the latest statistical methodologies relevant to HTA and RWE.Introduce and implement new tools, technologies, and methods to improve outcomes and insights.Support outsourcing strategy and manage quality through oversight of external statistical vendors.Scientific & Business IntegrationApply therapeutic area expertise and understanding of the healthcare landscape to support product strategy.Contribute to brand strategy, cross-functional decision-making, and portfolio development.Demonstrate strong leadership and independent project management.Qualifications:PhD in Statistics or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience, or MSc with 6+ yearsProven expertise in HTA, health outcomes research, and/or real-world evidenceDeep understanding of statistical theory, experimental design, and causal inferenceProficiency in SAS and R; strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including scientific presentation capabilitiesDemonstrated ability to lead projects, influence cross-functional teams, and manage third-party collaborationsFluent in English (oral and written)Preferred Experience:Direct experience with HTA processes in major marketsExperience working in the pharmaceutical industry or within health economics/research consultingAbility to work effectively across geographically dispersed teams and manage competing prioritiesBackground in managing external partnerships and vendor relationshipsAdditional Information:This position offers flexible location options within the UK, France, or GermanyOccasional domestic and international travel may be requiredPlease get in touch to find out more about similar opportunities - aimee@warmanobrien.com
