- Delivering targeted support
- Running 1:1 and small group sessions focused on:
- Literacy & numeracy
- Speech & language development
- Social interaction and communication skills
- Emotional well-being (e.g. CBT-style support, Worry Busters)
- Working closely with others
- Collaborating with the SENCO and support staff team
- Liaising with teachers, parents, and external specialists where needed
- Supporting students during lessons, transitions, or unstructured times
- Helping students gain confidence, independence, and academic growth
- Providing consistent, specialist support to help them meet personal and educational goals
- Shaping effective interventions
- Assisting in the design, delivery, and review of intervention programmes
- Helping ensure each support plan is purposeful and personalised
- Keeping track of progress and adapting approaches as needed
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A calm, encouraging and proactive approach to learning support
- A commitment to inclusion and safeguarding for every child
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to work flexibly across varied needs and settings
- Help a child take a brave step forward—academically, socially, or emotionally
