Job descriptionTeaching AssistantProspero Teaching are working with a supportive and inclusive Secondary School in Bournemouth that is currently seeking enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistants to join their staff team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about working with young people and keen to support students in reaching their full potential.The school has high expectations for behaviour and achievement and is looking for Teaching Assistants who are confident, motivated and eager to make a difference. You will work closely with teachers to support learning in the classroom and may also assist with small group or 1:1 interventions.This role would suit both experienced Teaching Assistants and those seeking to begin a career in education, including recent graduates or individuals considering teacher training in the future.Contract Details:
  • Location: Bournemouth, Dorset

  • Minimum Rate of Pay: From £14.66 per hour (actual pay dependent on experience)
  • Hours: 8:30am 3:30pm
The successful candidate will:
  • Have a genuine passion for supporting young people in education
  • Be confident in working with secondary-aged students
  • Be a positive role model with strong communication skills
  • Assist in managing behaviour and creating a safe, respectful learning environment
  • Provide classroom support to teachers and help deliver targeted interventions
  • Be flexible, patient, and able to work well as part of a team
Experience, Training and Qualifications:
  • GCSEs or equivalent qualifications
  • Experience working with young people or in an educational setting (preferred but not essential)
  • SEN experience is advantageous but not essential
  • Up-to-date safeguarding training issued in the last year (or willingness to complete)
Eligibility:
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online Update Service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional, child-related references
