Job Title: Leaning Disability Health Care Assistant
Location: East County Hertfordshire
Starting Salary: £25,147 progressing to £27,596 (+5% Cost of Living allowance)pa (pro rata for part-time)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

If you do, this is your chance to be involved with an innovative and progressive nursing service with a range of nursing and health care assistant roles and opportunities for career progression.You will be working within an Adult Disabilities integrated health and social care team and supporting community partners to improve the health of people with disabilities.As a healthcare assistant you will work alongside paid and family carers to support people with learning disabilities to access mainstream health services by supporting clinicians to make reasonable adjustments.Your skills in adapting and creating the right approach for the individual will help bridge the gaps and reduce the risk of avoidable health conditions.We require people who can be creative and flexible to different approaches for different situations as no day in community learning disability nursing is the same. As the post is in the community you will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to travel to community visits and across to the 2 main HCC sites in Hemel Hempstead and Stevenage in a time efficient way.We require candidates to be confident with IT skills (there is training available to improve these skills where required) have clear and precise record keeping and think analytically. NVQ level 3 in Health and Social care is desired but not essential. As long as you can demonstrate your skills, expertise and knowledge and how you can improve the lives of those with a learning disability, you will be considered for this role.HCC is a great organisation to work for and as an HCA in the service you will have all the benefits of the NHS Agenda for Change terms and conditions and be nurtured to grow in confidence and skills.
