In addition to working with colleagues from the Corporate Health and Safety Team the post holder will work collaboratively with colleagues from other teams including Facilities Management and Schools. The role will support Merton's work delivering and further developing the Council's Fire Safety arrangements.A strong background and experience in fire safety is required as is a willingness to attend the Civic Centre and other locations throughout Merton Borough to conduct audits and inspections of the Council’s premises, including our schools. the post holder will support the Corporate Health and Safety Manager in implementing the Corporate Fire Safety Arrangements including reviewing and updating the Fire Safety policy and Procedures, implementing the fire related topics of the health and safety improvement programme and delivering training to staff across the council.A key function will be advising on fire safety responsibilities and further developing a positive culture.We are a busy, friendly, and supportive team.
