The VacancyRSK Land Development and Engineering (LDE) Ltd, part of the RSK Group are looking for a Principal Civil Engineer to join the team in Exeter. This is a full-time, permanent position.RSK Land & Development and Engineering (LDE) Ltd, part of the RSK Group of companies, provides a complete engineering design service for all sectors in the Construction Industry both pre and post planning. RSK LDE Ltd was formed in 2003 after a number of specialist design engineers joined RSK in order to strengthen its existing in-house capabilities. It now has a highly experienced team made up of professional civil and structural engineering staff with many years experience in the assessment, design and construction of major development projects. Currently LDE offer the following engineering expertise within the main sectors: infrastructure and pre-acquisition engineering assessments, highways, drainage, structural and civil design, statutory utilities negotiations, flood risk and transport assessments.We currently seek a Principal Civil Engineer with an ambition to follow the growth of the Company and within the organisation to further progress their career to the next level and beyond. To fulfil this role we would anticipate the followingResponsibilities of the role:
  • A Civil Engineer within the design team on designated projects, that reports to the Director.
  • Assist the Director with the commercial aspects of bidding and administering the project scope.
  • To lead a team for the successful delivery of the day to day requirements of projects and deal directly with clients
  • Prepare and produce the necessary infrastructure design, specifications and drawings using AutoCAD and other proprietary design software to comply with the project and statutory requirements.
  • Manage the timescales and resources available for undertaking required works.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
  • Suitably qualified and experience in both the design of drainage and highways in order to satisfactorily fulfil the responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Experience in drawing production in accordance with industry best practice.
  • Practical understanding of civil engineering principles, discipline codes of practice and design guides.
  • Working knowledge of software for highway design and ground modelling.
  • Working knowledge of software to design and model new drainage systems including sustainable drainage.
Advantageous but not essential Qualifications and Experience
  • A working knowledge of programming software
  • An appropriate professional qualification
  • Design of potable water supply structures.
  • Experience in the design of waste management facilities
