English Graduate Teaching Assistant | Year 2 | Arthur's Hill, NewcastleGot an English degree and a soft spot for phonics, picture books, and the magic of early learning?A primary school in Arthur's Hill is looking for a proactive, enthusiastic graduate to support a Year 2 class. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain classroom experience in a vibrant and inclusive schools. If you’re thinking about a future in teaching (or just love working with children), this role could be the perfect launchpad.What you’ll be doing:Supporting pupils with early reading, phonics, and writing.Providing one-to-one or small group interventions, particularly in literacy.Assisting with SEND and SEMH support in the classroom when needed, helping children regulate emotions, build confidence, and stay engaged in learning.Helping the class teacher prep, plan, and deliver fun, focused lessons.Jumping in with creativity, curiosity, and a calm head when things get lively (as they often do in Year 2!).Who we’re looking for:An English graduate with a real interest in education and child development.Someone proactive, positive, and ready to roll up their sleeves.Any experience working with children (in schools, clubs, mentoring, tutoring etc.) is a big plus.No need to be qualified, just committed, kind, and keen to learn.About the schoolThis primary school is a large, diverse, and community-focused primary school where every child’s progress matters.
