Nursery Staff Opportunities – Assistants, Practitioners & Room LeadersLocation: Standish, Atherton, Tyldesley, Hindley
Pay: £12.50 – £15.50 per hour (dependent on role, experience, and qualifications)
Hours: Flexible and full-time roles available (shifts between 8:00am – 6:00pm)Are you passionate about working with children in the Early Years Foundation Stage? Whether you’re newly qualified, experienced, or looking for flexible work to fit around other commitments – we want to hear from you.Teaching Personnel are the preffered supplier for a large group of Nurseries in Wigan who are expanding their teams for September 2025.We currently have a range of positions, including:
  • Nursery Assistants (unqualified or Level 1+)
  • Qualified Nursery Practitioners (Level 2 or Level 3)
  • Room Leaders (Level 3+ with team-leading experience)
This warm and inclusive setting caters for children aged 0–5 and provides a rich, play-based learning environment with strong outdoor provision. The nursery is committed to high standards of care, education, and safeguarding – and seeks dedicated individuals to join them on a flexible or full-time basis.Roles and Responsibilities (depending on role):
  • Supporting and supervising children’s daily routines and learning through play
  • Planning and delivering age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS framework
  • Acting as a key worker and maintaining up-to-date observations and assessments
  • Ensuring safeguarding and health & safety procedures are consistently followed
  • Collaborating with a team of practitioners and supporting room leadership (for senior roles)
Requirements:
  • A genuine passion for working with children in the Early Years
  • A caring, reliable, and proactive approach
  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare (preferred for practitioner/room leader roles)
  • Knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding procedures
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Room Leader applicants must have prior team-leading or supervisory experience
Contract Details:
  • Start date: September 2025
  • Flexible supply, part-time and full-time permanent positions available
