- To use a range of software to develop detailed structural designs as well as hand calculations
- Undertaking of technical and feasibility studies including organising site investigations
- Liaise with clients and a variety of professionals including contractors and architects.
- Preparation of reports, contract documents, management of tenders.
- Provide technical advice to clients
- Obtain planning and/or buildings regulation approval
- Monitoring and inspecting work undertaken by contractors
- Resolving design and development problems
- Management of budget and project resources
- Ensuring that all projects comply with legal requirements including CDM2015, Party wall, Listed
- Undertake large value projects independently with sound knowledge on all aspects of professional
- To provide supervision and support to Graduates and Engineers to promote knowledge and
- At all times to comply with the requirements of the Company's administrative, personnel procedures and Health & Safety regulations
- MEng (Hons) in Structural Engineering
- Experience and extensive working knowledge of consulting engineering, surveying, architectural & planning practices and procedures supported by an awareness of the latest statutory requirements, technical publications and guidelines.
- Experience in negotiation, supervisory and leadership roles
- Experience in working to deadlines and within budgets on large scale projects
- Sound mathematical, scientific and IT skills
- The ability to thin methodically and to manage projects
- Problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of relevant legislation
