Supac Ltd has been actively involved in the manufacture and distribution of batteries for over 70 years.We pride ourselves on the extensive range of products we offer, including car, commercial and leisure batteries as well as specialist batteries for the marine, mobility, security and medical sectors. We also specialise in solar and battery storage systems.We are now seeking a full-time Delivery Driver / Warehouse Operative, for our distribution facility in Merthyr Tydfil. As part of our team, you will be required to be flexible and hard-working, with excellent attention to detail.Duties include:
  • Provision of first class customer service, being courteous at all times;
  • Daily delivery of customer orders across various routes in Wales and England, whilst complying with road traffic legislation;
  • Taking orders over the phone and ensuring their accuracy;
  • Provision of general advice on battery part numbers and their application;
  • Serving customers on the trade counter, conducting cash and credit card sales;
  • Working with our computer system to finalise sale transactions;
  • Providing quotations and technical advice to customers;
  • Operating forklift trucks and counterbalance equipment;
  • Picking, packing and labelling orders ready for dispatch;
  • Loading and unloading of products from delivery vehicles;
  • Assisting with the monitoring of stock levels and stock checks and reporting any discrepancies;
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment complying with all health and safety legislation;
  • Cleaning and maintaining company vehicles ready for the next delivery.
RequirementsThe person:
  • Knowledge and experience of the battery industry;
  • Experienced delivery driver with a full, clean UK driving licence who has worked in a distribution/wholesale organisation;
  • Able to drive a long wheel-base van;
  • Able to lift heavy objects with due regard to manual handling procedures;
  • Trade counter experience;
  • Forklift licence holder, preferably with Reach Fork Lift experience;
  • Friendly and professional, with excellent customer service skills and attention to detail.
