Contract: Full Academic yearAbout the RoleOne of our trusted partner secondary schools in the Newport area is seeking a passionate and creative Art Teacher who can inspire creativity and foster a love of the arts across KS3 and KS4 (with opportunities to teach KS5). In this role, you will design and deliver engaging lessons that encourage self-expression, build technical skills, and develop students’ confidence in a variety of artistic media.The successful candidate will also contribute to the wider creative life of the school, supporting extracurricular activities such as art clubs, exhibitions, and whole-school projects. This is an exciting opportunity to shape young people’s artistic journeys while making a meaningful impact within a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school.Whether you’re a newly qualified teacher (ECT/NQT) or an experienced educator, we want to hear from you!What We’re Looking for?We welcome applications from individuals who:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or are completing their induction
- Proven experience teaching Art ideally across KS3/KS4 (KS5 desirable)
- Have a passion for Art and a commitment to inspiring creativity in students.
- Possess excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Monitor student progress and provide effective feedback
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
- Level 2 Safeguarding training
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
