- Oversee daily operations to ensure projects are executed and meet quality standards.
- Leading and managing geotechnical projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to project requirements.
- Support the planning and execution of projects in collaboration with project leads.
- Monitor project progress and proactively address any operational and technical challenges.
- Identifying and managing geotechnical risks, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Mentoring and managing junior engineers' development and outputs.
- Support tendering processes, working closely with the Operations manager and Bid team with quality tender submissions.
- Serve as a key point of contact for clients during project execution.
- Maintain open communication with clients, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns.
- Build strong client relationships to foster trust and drive repeat business.
- Assist management team with promoting a culture of safety by ensure yourself and those you supervise complying with safety procedures and rules.
- Ensure environmental practices align with company policies, including waste reduction and energy efficiency.
- Lead by example, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
- Support the development of the junior and senior engineers through mentoring and training.
- Identify skills gaps within your team and support the operations manager in implementing strategies to address them.
- Degree in Geotechnical Engineering (BSc or MSc), or a related field.
- Chartered status (Engineer) preferred.
- Ability to collaborate closely with our technical team in project delivery, work winning and maintaining high levels of client satisfaction.
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
- Actively input to team and client meetings, being prepared to own decisions and put forward alternative ideas and concepts.
- Prepare, check, and review a wide range of technical documents, including desk studies, interpretative reports, specifications, construction drawings and design reports.
- Demonstrable understanding of current design codes, standards, and best practices in geotechnical design, but also open to exploring new methods and innovations.
- Proven leadership experience in similar roles, with an ability to inspire and lead teams.
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK.
- Clean driving license.
