Part-Time Specialist Support Staff (Trauma Experience)Location: Tuebrook Area (L13)Pay: £13.75 - £14.50 / hourStart Date: Immediate StartAbout the RoleA welcoming school in the Tuebrook area is seeking a skilled and compassionate individual to provide one-to-one support for a child who has experienced significant trauma. This is a part-time position, working Monday to Friday on half-day sessions.The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping the child to feel safe, supported, and able to engage with their education. You will be working closely with the school’s pastoral and teaching teams to deliver consistent, nurturing care and guidance.Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualised emotional and practical support for the child throughout the school day.
  • Build a trusting and positive relationship, offering reassurance and encouragement.
  • Help the child to regulate emotions and manage challenging behaviours in a safe, supportive way.
  • Encourage engagement with learning and social activities, at a pace that feels manageable for the child.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals where required.
  • Maintain accurate records of progress, challenges, and strategies used.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Desirable (but not essential):
  • Experience working with children who have experienced trauma, SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs, or other complex needs.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or mental health support.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
