We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join a fast-paced MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) team supporting major UK defence and aerospace programmes. This is an exciting opportunity to work on advanced aircraft systems in a dynamic, collaborative environment.Key Responsibilities:Carry out assembly, disassembly, modification, and repair of aircraft systems, structures, electronics, and components.Troubleshoot complex mechanical systems, including pneumatic, hydraulic, and structural components.Deliver work in line with MAA Regulatory Articles (RA), MRP Part 145, Quality Assurance (QA), and Safety Management Systems (SMS).Ensure work meets approved technical standards and contractual requirements within your Responsibility, Accountability, and Authority (RAA).Mentor apprentices or junior staff where required.Be flexible with work locations and schedules to meet programme deadlines.Contribute to continuous improvement and maintain a positive reporting culture.Qualifications & Experience:Recognised trade apprenticeship or equivalent mechanical/aircraft maintenance training.Knowledge of general aircraft maintenance and aviation processes, including Human Factors, FOD control, tool control, health & safety, and COSHH.Experience in commercial or defence aviation is advantageous.Strong technical, organisational, and communication skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant IT systems.Demonstrates teamwork and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.Work Authorisation & Security Clearance:Candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK.The role requires the ability to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC); UK residency is required.Why Work With Us:Short-term contract opportunities with competitive pay.Work on high-profile UK defence and aerospace programmes.Dynamic, collaborative, and supportive team culture.Strong focus on safety, first-time quality, and continuous improvement.Services advertised by Gold Group are those of an Agency and/or an Employment Business.
