Learning Support AssistantChesterfield£444.60 - £500 per week (salary is depending on experience and/or qualifications)Start Date: Monday 8th September 2025Full time (Monday – Friday) (Temporary to Permanent)The School and RoleA ‘Good' recently rated by Ofsted SEND specialist provision in Chesterfield are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to work full time with pupils in a classroom-based environment. You will educate and support young individuals between the ages of 5 – 19 years old (KS1 – KS5) who have a range of special education needs. You will support vulnerable learners through different learning activities and materials such as classroom-based maths and English lessons and further curriculum.The successful applicant will have had previous experience in supporting with challenging behaviours and social, emotional, and mental health needs. You will engage on a 1:1 as well as group-based environment alongside a qualified teacher in a classroom setting with pupils who may have ODD, ADHD, EBD, SEMH, ASC, ADHD AND PDA. This role is perfect if you are looking to make a positive change in a young person’s life and build on your experience, skills and knowledge with children who have addition educational needs.RequirementsThe desired Learning Support Assistant will have:
  • Experience of working with primary or secondary school aged children
  • Experience of working with pupils with SEND
  • A passion for the progress of SEND primary and secondary school pupils.
  • An ability to work as part of a team.
  • Experience working with behaviours that challenge.
  • Must have basic Maths and English function skill set.
  • Team Teach Level 2 trained desired, or willingness to undertake the course free of charge through us!
  • Desirable – Driver’s license and car or easy access to public transport
